Thinking about Walmart over morning coffee

… or, better yet, over a stiff drink at any other time of day.

Walmart is the third largest single employer in the entire world, behind the U.S. Department of Defense and the Chinese Army.

For every job Walmart creates, about 1.5 jobs are lost elsewhere in the U.S. economy. That’s because when a Walmart store opens or expands, Mom and Pop stores within a 15 mile radius go out of business.

Every year, the U.S. government pays out about $1.5 billion in food stamps and other benefits to underpaid Walmart employees.

Each of the six Walmart heirs earns about $450 million dollars a year from their piece of that smiley-face-pie. The total net worth of those six individuals is about the same as the bottom 30% of all Americans.

Have a nice day. Y'all come on back now, heah?
